Ron's Rainbow Wins The Day

This superb rainbow at just under 5½lbs was the best fish taken in a British Legion Angling competition on the 29th June 2008. Its captor Ron Murphy from Crieff fishing worm from a St. Fillans & Loch Earn Angling Association club boat added a further 5 rainbows to take his bag to 6 fish for 8lbs 9ozs. Runner up was Bill Smith with 6 rainbows for 4½lbs again on the worm, third was Ian Brock with 2 browns and 4 rainbows for 4¼lbs taken on a Kate McLaren and a Kingfisher Butcher and 4th was Bill Broadley with 1 brown and 3 rainbows for 3¼lbs on the worm.
