Richard Returns 7Lbs 11Ozs Brownie

This fantastic wild brown trout at a few ounces short of eight pounds was caught by Associate Member Season Ticket holder Richard Zalewski from Dunfermline out in his own boat " Sammy Troot " on the 26th May 2012." This fish was caught at midday ( absolutely scorching hot ) on Saturday 26th May trolling east on " Sammy Troot " towards St. Fillans, directly opposite the caravan site in about 20 feet of water, I was trolling a rapala 70 yards behind the boat on a rod with quite a stiff action and was not sure if I had hooked a " wee yin " or maybe picked up some weed and thought I might give it another couple of minutes and then reel in and check. Then about a minute later the rod bent over and fifteen minutes later it was in the net, that's when I realised I had actually hooked a " wee yin " a rainbow about ½ lb and this belter decided it was going to have both the rainbow and the rapala, it was quickly weighed and a couple of photos taken then safely released to fight another day."
